Impersonating your bank

“Suspicious transaction on your account” or “your card is suspended, update your details”, with a link, or a call asking you to move your money to a “safe account”.

Example scam message (for awareness; the link is fake)
مصرف الراجحي: تم إيقاف بطاقتك مدى مؤقتاً، يرجى تحديث بياناتك فوراً عبر alrajhi-update.com
What the scammer wants
Your login, card details and verification code, or a transfer of your balance to the scammer's account.
What to do
Never move your money to another account to “protect” it. Hang up and call the number on the back of your card, and open your bank's app yourself, not from a link.

If you already paid or shared a code

  1. Call your bank right away and ask them to block the card or stop the transaction.
  2. Change your passwords from a safe device, and remove any unknown device linked to your accounts.
  3. Report it through the Kollona Amn (كلنا أمن) app.
  4. Don't pay anyone who promises to recover your money for a fee: that's a second scam.
